Berries by the Bay is an enterprise of Black Douglas Farm owners Zach Douglas and Carol Walburn. Originally hailing from Saskatchewan, a change of employment saw the Douglas family uprooted from our acreage near Regina, Saskatchewan, and relocated to Hamilton, Ontario. Upon retirement, we transitioned to a property on Loyalist Parkway in Lennox and Addington County, along the shores of Lake Ontario. It is here that Berries by the Bay began in 2018.

 

While Berries by the Bay was established upon the arrival of our first seedlings, 2022 marked our first year of operations. As our plants continue to mature, production will increase. At this time we offer two types of fruits that are incredibly unique and relatively unknown to this region: Saskatoon berries and Haskap berries. Currently under development is the addition of tart cherries to our orchard.
